American Mueum of Fly Fishing
San Francisco, California
The Marketbar in the Ferry Building proved to be the most wonderful place to host the first annual American Museum of Fly Fishing Benefit Auction in California. Held September 24th in San Francisco, the event was as much of a celebration of the art of fly fishing, family and friends as it was a celebration of the life of Mel Krieger.
Mel Krieger is internationally recognized as the foremost teacher of fly fishing and fly casting today. His teachings through clinics, workshops, books and videos are used as standards in fly fishing and fly casting schools throughout the world.
For three decades Mel and his equally talented wife, Fanny, fished the world - leading and teaching people in the art of fly fishing and fly casting. Their love and knowledge of this sport and art are only complimented by their affinity with fly fishers of all levels; beginning, intermediate and advanced. Sadly, Mel passed away in 2008.
Fanny was in attendance for this elegant event as were many of Mel's family, friends and admirers. Each enjoyed appetizers and drinks on the Marketbar patio before being invited in for the sitdown dinner.
Inside the restaurant, guests had a chance to bid on difficult to come by items in the silent and live auctions, enjoy a delicious meal and celebrated the life of Mel Krieger.
A beautiful day. An incredible evening. The celebration of life and San Francisco. Simply Amazing.
I truly appreciate the American Museum of Fly Fishing for choosing me to host their live auction in San Fransisco. Out of all the auctioneers local and around the states, it was an honor for me to be chosen as the host auctioneer. I am truly blessed to have been a part of such a wonderful event. I'm even more blessed to have been in the company of those whose lives have been touched and changed by a man who meant so much to so many, Mel Krieger.
