Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital
20th Annual HeartThrob Ball
Throughout the years I've had the opportunity to attend a few concerts and help produce graduations for Strongsville City Schools at the CSU Wolstein Center. So when I was invited to be the host auctioneer for the 20th annual HeartThrob Ball for Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital, I was very curious how the great folks at CSU would successfully transform the arena into an elegant ballroom. I have to tell you, it was unbelievable! Simply unbelievable! It was colorful, beautiful, elegant and simply magnificent.
Presented by PNC Bank and attracting 1,100 guests the HeartThrob Ball is a black-tie celebration not to be missed. Guests were treated to cocktails, appetizers, live music and wonderful silent auction items on the concourse before moving to the beautifully decorated main floor for the start of the dinner program where Mistress of Ceremonies Stefani Schaefer of Fox 8 News officially welcomed everyone with her trademark grace, style, personality and beautiful smile.
Following dinner was the presentation of the Courage Awards, presented to pediatric patients who have demonstrated great character in overcoming huge medical challenges. Their stories of courage and strength were absolutely inspiring to all.
Then came the live auction. What a thrill to perform in front of 1,100 guests. But even more thrilling was the support everyone gave in their purchases of items and then their support of the special appeal. Absolutely incredible! How wonderful for the hospital.
Stephanie did an incredible job keeping the evening ahead of schedule and before we knew it, the Beach Boys - yes, THE Beach Boys took the stage, playing all their hits to the delight of everyone.
Next year, the Pointer Sisters are slated to be the main entertainment. Make sure you get your tickets for the 21st annual HeartThrob Ball before tickets are sold out. It's definitely an event you don't want to miss.
